MY BLOG COVER DESIGN (Mixture of Digital & Real Art)

Art needs to come in a natural form, we need not to force ourselves in order to produce and conceptualize an idea. Sometimes the idea is already there, we just need to open our eyes “art is everywhere”. One day while I was at work and having some grape & strawberry snack, I just found out that these fruits are nice to stare at. So I decided to take a simple iPhone snap shot. At home in the night, I took my water colour and started to draw these fruits with no other reason but to test my new water colour sets. And at the same time, I began to think of starting an art blog and thought of a multi- media visual art concept. With a background knowledge in basic HTML script writing, I started a first write-up and arrange the web page. Since the grapes & strawberry drawing is partially done, I just decided to put art materials like brushes, charcoal pencils, erasers, pallet knife, colour pencils, oil-acrylic & water tubes all around it and took an AERIAL shot with a DSLR came...

Have Fallen to the Plank

Image
Medium: Water Colour Size: 11" 1/2" x 14" 1/2" Fall is one of my favourite season of the year as I get to see the beauty and colour of the falling leaf. As I was walking in the Bamburgh circle where I resides, I saw these leaves and began to pick them up. I began to think what kind of art must I do, I have tried to arrange them in many series until I got the final position. Then, I saw an old wooden floor plank, where the grains are so modified and dried that I thought would look good as a resting ground for the drying leaves. Finally, a perfect combination of the drying leaves resting on an old wooden plank.

Beauty in Pink

Polychromos are oil based coloured pencils from Faber Castell. I am an artist who is dependent with brushes. It was a big change doing art with just your hand strokes extended on pencil. It will take time to color backgrounds or large scale drawings. If you are an artist with extreme patience, you can try this medium. But there are positive attributes with colour pencils when it comes to detailing. Large background can be done with water colour first to minimize the effort then finish it with color pencil detailing. This coloured pencils could be blended with gamblin mineral spirit or simply baby oil by using a brush. The applied coloured pencil becomes more vivid & attractive when blended with mineral spirits. This flower reference is from a friends garden.

The Colourful Splendor

VILLAGE IN ITALY I am a late bloomer in Acrylic paints. Have just started this medium lately. This is an experimental one studying the behaviour of acrylic paint. This medium usually dries fast, but this behaviour could be used in fast applications of different colour tones. I like how the combination of vibrant colour mixtures has turned out to be. This painting is only on an 8”x10” canvas board. I think this scenery will do better on a bigger scale.

The Star of the Year

Water colour is my first and well loved medium before I got busy with acrylic & oil mediums. This rooster painting is a comeback water colour painting and this time I needed to upgrade water colour materials into good branded ones. This rooster is a trial art to test the colour intensity of the Van Gogh water colour. It was done in a CANSON water colour paper, the size of the drawing is 8x10 in. So far I like the vividness of the mixture of reds, orange & yellow tones. Perfect art peace for the year of the rooster!

One Summertime in Miliken

DO YOU FIND IT APPEALING? I usually paint in multi-colours, but this time I was in an experimental limited tones. The painting is in majority of blues and greens with a touch of purple, yellow & burnt umber ACRYLICS. In water or river painting, besides the multiple brush strokes of waves— -white and dark shades always add beauty and contrast to the water. And the reflection or shadows of an object floating or above the water like the birds adds-up to a realistic aura of the painting. RIVER flowing waters and crystal clear waters are one of my favourite art subjects. This painting was done in a premium Gesso Panel (9x12 in). The scenic spot was in MILIKEN Park, Toronto, Canada.
